Patient Terms and Conditions
Lingo Therapy Platform. Effective Date: 8 July 2026
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Lingo Therapy platform ("Platform") as a patient or service user ("you", "Patient"). The Platform is operated by Kure Digital, a company registered in Ireland ("Company", "we", "us").
By registering for an account and using the Platform, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Platform.
2. What Lingo Therapy Is
Lingo Therapy is an online marketplace that connects you with independent, qualified Speech and Language Therapists ("Therapists"). The Platform provides the technology infrastructure for browsing therapist profiles, booking sessions, making payments, and joining video sessions.
It is important that you understand and acknowledge the following: Kure Digital is a technology platform provider. We are not a healthcare provider, clinic, or medical practice. Therapists listed on the Platform are independent practitioners. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of Kure Digital. Kure Digital does not provide, supervise, direct, or control the clinical services delivered by Therapists. The therapeutic relationship is between you and the Therapist you choose. Kure Digital is not a party to that relationship.
3. Eligibility
To use the Platform, you must be at least 18 years of age. If you are booking sessions on behalf of a child or dependent, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian and are authorised to provide consent on their behalf.
You must provide accurate and complete information during registration and keep your account details up to date.
4. Therapist Qualifications
Kure Digital requires all Therapists on the Platform to hold appropriate qualifications (minimum Master's level in Speech and Language Therapy), to be registered with CORU or the equivalent regulatory body, and to hold valid professional indemnity insurance.
However, you acknowledge that Kure Digital verifies Therapist credentials at the point of registration but does not provide ongoing clinical supervision or quality assurance of individual therapy sessions. It is your right and responsibility to satisfy yourself that a Therapist is suitable for your needs before booking a session. You may check a Therapist's CORU registration status independently at www.coru.ie.
Kure Digital reserves the right to periodically re-verify the qualifications, CORU registration status, and professional indemnity insurance of Therapists listed on the Platform. However, Kure Digital does not provide ongoing clinical supervision or continuous monitoring of Therapist credentials between verification checks.
5. Bookings and Sessions
When you book a session through the Platform, you are entering into a direct arrangement with the Therapist for the provision of therapy services. Kure Digital facilitates the booking and payment process but is not a party to the service agreement between you and the Therapist.
Sessions are conducted via Google Meet through the Platform. You are responsible for ensuring you have a stable internet connection, a device with a camera and microphone, and a quiet, private environment for your session.
6. Payments
All payments are processed securely through Stripe at the time of booking. By making a payment, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
The session fee displayed on the Platform is the total amount you pay. This includes the Therapist's fee and the Platform's service charge. You will not be charged any additional fees by Kure Digital beyond the displayed amount.
We take payment at the time of booking and hold it securely. We release the therapist's fee to them only after your session has taken place. If a session is cancelled or refunded under the cancellation terms below, your refund is processed without the therapist's fee having been released.
Receipts are provided after each session and can be used for health insurance claims where applicable. It is your responsibility to check your insurer's specific requirements.
Lingo Therapy does not provide support for health insurance claims beyond providing session receipts. It is solely your responsibility to verify your insurer's requirements, coverage, and claims procedures.
7. Cancellations, Refunds, and No-Show Policy
7.1 Patient Cancellations
If you need to cancel a booking: more than 48 hours before the session, you will receive a full refund; between 24 and 48 hours before the session, you will receive a 50% refund; within 24 hours of the session, no refund is available; no-show (failure to attend without cancelling), no refund is available.
7.2 Therapist Cancellations
If your therapist cancels a session, you will receive a full refund regardless of when the cancellation is made. We apologise for any inconvenience. You can rebook with the same or a different therapist from your dashboard.
7.3 Rescheduling
Either you or your therapist may reschedule a session once without penalty, provided the request is made more than 48 hours before the scheduled session time. Each booking may only be rescheduled once. Further changes require cancellation and rebooking.
7.4 Refund Processing
All refunds are processed via Stripe and typically take 5 to 10 business days to appear in your original payment method. You will receive email confirmation of any refund with the amount and expected timeframe.
8. Limitation of Liability and Disclaimer
This is an important clause. Please read it carefully.
Kure Digital provides the Platform as a technology service to connect you with independent Therapists. To the maximum extent permitted by Irish law: Kure Digital is not liable for the quality, safety, outcome, or suitability of any therapy services provided by Therapists through the Platform. Kure Digital does not guarantee that therapy will achieve any particular outcome or result. Kure Digital is not liable for any clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment plan provided by a Therapist. Kure Digital is not liable for any act, omission, negligence, or misconduct of any Therapist. Kure Digital is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the Platform or any therapy services obtained through it. Kure Digital is not liable for any loss of data, unauthorised access to your account, or security breaches, to the fullest extent permitted by Irish law. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your login credentials. Kure Digital is not responsible for the availability, performance, or functionality of third-party services used in connection with the Platform, including but not limited to Google Meet (video calls) and Stripe (payment processing). Any issues arising from these third-party services are governed by their respective terms of service.
The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. Kure Digital does not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free from viruses or other harmful components.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits Kure Digital's liability for death or personal injury caused by its own negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Irish law.
9. Complaints
Clinical complaints relating to the quality of therapy should be directed to the Therapist in the first instance, and if unresolved, to CORU (www.coru.ie) as the relevant regulatory body. Complaints about the Platform (bookings, payments, technical issues) should be directed to Kure Digital at hello@lingo-therapy.ie.
Kure Digital will investigate platform-related complaints and respond within 14 business days. However, Kure Digital cannot adjudicate on clinical matters, which fall within the jurisdiction of CORU and the relevant professional regulatory framework.
In the case of serious complaints regarding a Therapist's conduct, clinical practice, or patient safety, we ask that you also notify Kure Digital at hello@lingo-therapy.ie. This allows us to monitor patterns and take appropriate action, including suspension or removal of a Therapist from the Platform where necessary.
10. Your Responsibilities
As a user of the Platform, you agree to provide accurate medical history and relevant information to your Therapist, attend booked sessions on time and in a suitable environment, treat Therapists and other users with respect (abusive, threatening, or inappropriate behaviour will result in account suspension or termination), not record therapy sessions without the prior written consent of the Therapist (similarly, Therapists are prohibited from recording sessions without your prior written consent), and not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose. Where you upload documents or information (for example prior reports or assessments) to share with your therapist, you confirm you are entitled to share that information and that it is accurate.
11. Health Disclaimer
The Platform is not intended to replace emergency medical services. If you or your child are experiencing a medical emergency, please contact your GP, call 999/112, or attend your nearest Emergency Department immediately.
Speech and language therapy provided through the Platform is not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment from a qualified medical professional.
12. Data Protection
Kure Digital processes your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Act 2018. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Your Therapist is an independent data controller for any clinical records they create and maintain as part of your therapy.
13. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, logos, software, and technology associated with the Lingo Therapy platform are the intellectual property of Kure Digital. You may not reproduce, modify, or distribute any Platform content without prior written consent.
14. Termination
You may close your account at any time by contacting hello@lingo-therapy.ie. Outstanding bookings should be cancelled before account closure.
Kure Digital may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms or engage in conduct that, in our reasonable opinion, is harmful to other users, Therapists, or the Platform.
15. Data After Account Closure
When you close your account, Kure Digital will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Booking records and payment data may be retained for up to 7 years in accordance with Irish tax and financial record-keeping requirements. You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting hello@lingo-therapy.ie, subject to our legal retention obligations. For full details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
16. Platform Changes
Kure Digital reserves the right to modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any feature or functionality of the Platform at any time, with or without notice. We will endeavour to provide reasonable notice of any material changes that may affect your use of the Platform.
17. Marketing and Feedback
By using the Platform, you consent to Kure Digital using anonymised and aggregated feedback, reviews, or usage data for marketing, promotional, and platform improvement purposes. No personally identifiable information will be shared publicly without your explicit consent.
18. Beta Features
From time to time, Kure Digital may offer access to new or experimental features ("Beta Features"). Beta Features are provided "as is" without any warranties or guarantees. Kure Digital is not liable for any issues arising from the use of Beta Features.
19. Reviews and Ratings
If Kure Digital introduces a reviews or ratings system in the future, all reviews must be honest, accurate, and respectful. Kure Digital reserves the right to remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, misleading, or otherwise inappropriate. Reviews may not contain personal information about Therapists beyond what is publicly displayed on their profile.
20. Prohibited Use
You may not use the Platform for any unauthorised commercial purpose, attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Platform, or interfere with the Platform's operation or security. Any such use may result in immediate termination of your account.
21. Referral Programmes
Kure Digital may from time to time operate referral programmes. Any such programme will be subject to separate terms and conditions communicated at the time of the programme. Kure Digital reserves the right to modify or discontinue any referral programme at any time.
22. Changes to Fees
Kure Digital reserves the right to change the fees charged to patients, including session fees displayed on the Platform, with reasonable notice. Any changes to fees will not affect bookings already confirmed and paid for at the time of the change.
23. Block Bookings
What a block is
A block is a set of sessions with the same therapist, paid for in advance in one payment. You can book a block in one of two ways:
- A recurring block, where you choose a regular weekly time and we schedule the agreed number of sessions for you.
- A flexible package, where you buy a set number of sessions and book each one yourself when it suits you.
You choose how many sessions are in your block, from 2 to 12.
Paying for a block
You pay for the full block when you book it. Each session in a block is priced at your therapist's standard rate for the session length you choose. We hold your payment and release each therapist's fee to them only after each session takes place, the same as for a single session.
Receipts, tax and insurance
You receive a receipt for each session as it takes place, the same as for a single booking. You may be able to claim part of the cost back through tax relief or private health insurance. Whether you can claim, and how much, depends on your own circumstances and your insurer's rules, so please check your policy and Revenue.
Using a flexible package
If you buy a flexible package, you have 12 months from the date of purchase to book and use your sessions. We will remind you before your sessions are due to expire.
Changing or cancelling sessions in a block
Each session in a block follows the same cancellation and rescheduling terms as a single session (see the Cancellations section above). If you cancel a session within the period those terms allow, that session is refunded and the rest of your block is unaffected.
If you cancel a whole block, each session that has not yet taken place is treated under those same per-session terms, so sessions far enough ahead are refunded in full and only sessions inside the cancellation window are treated as a late cancellation. Sessions that have already taken place are not refunded.
If your therapist cannot continue with your block, we will work with you to reschedule the remaining sessions or arrange a suitable alternative, and where that is not possible we refund the sessions that have not taken place.
24. Messaging and contacting support
How messaging works
You can message our support team from inside your account. Messaging is a two-way channel between you and Lingo: you send us a message, we reply in your account, and you can see the full history in one place. When you send a message, we are notified so we can pick it up.
Messages go to Lingo's support team, not to your therapist. There is no direct messaging between you and your therapist through the platform. If your question is for your therapist, send it to us and we will help or pass it on as appropriate.
What messaging is for
Messaging is for non-urgent questions and coordination, for example scheduling, what to prepare for a session, receipts, or general queries about your account. It is not monitored around the clock and we do not commit to a fixed response time. We aim to come back to you as soon as we reasonably can.
Messaging is not a clinical service and is not for emergencies. Please do not use it to seek urgent help or clinical advice that cannot wait. If you or your child needs urgent medical help, contact your GP, out-of-hours service, or the emergency services as appropriate. If it is a mental health crisis, contact the relevant crisis support in your area.
Notes from your therapist
Your therapist may share notes, materials, or home-practice work with you through the platform. This is one-way: your therapist sends these to you, and you cannot reply to them through the notes. If you have a question after reading something your therapist has shared, send it to us through support and we will help.
Information you share with us
When you message us, we store the messages so we can respond and keep a record of your query. Please only share what is needed to help us with your question. If you choose to include health or other personal information about you or your child, we handle it in line with our Privacy Policy, which explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it, and your rights. Please read the Privacy Policy alongside these Terms.
25. Reports and Letters
What this is
Some therapists on Lingo offer written reports and letters in addition to sessions, for example a progress summary or a letter of support for a school or another professional. Where a therapist offers this, you can request it from their profile. Not every therapist offers reports, and the types offered vary by therapist.
Who writes and owns the report
The report is written by your therapist, who is a CORU-registered Speech and Language Therapist and is responsible for its clinical content. Lingo does not write, review, or own the content of your report. We provide the platform that lets you request it, pay for it, and receive it, and we hold the payment until the report is delivered. Any clinical questions about a report are for your therapist.
When you can request a report
You can request a report from a therapist you have already worked with, that is, a therapist you have had at least one completed session with. This is because a therapist can only prepare an accurate report for a child they have actually worked with. If you have not yet had a session with that therapist, book a session first and the report options will become available.
Price and turnaround
Each report type has a fixed price set by the therapist, shown to you before you pay. Reports are priced per type, not by the hour. The therapist also gives an estimated turnaround time. The turnaround is an estimate to help you plan and is not a guaranteed delivery date.
Payment, holding, and release
You pay the fixed price upfront when you request the report. Lingo holds your payment and does not release the therapist's share straight away. When your therapist delivers the report, you can review it and confirm you have received it, which releases the fee to the therapist. If you do not confirm, the fee is released to the therapist automatically 7 days after delivery. As with sessions, the therapist receives their share and Lingo retains a platform fee.
Delivery and access
Your therapist uploads the finished report to the platform and you can download it from your account. Access to the report file is restricted to you and to Lingo. The report contains health information about your child and is handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
Cancellations, refunds, and disputes
You can cancel a report request and receive a full refund at any time before it has been delivered. Once a report has been delivered, if you are not satisfied you can raise this with us during the confirmation window. We assess these on a case-by-case basis having regard to the circumstances, and any refund, whether full or partial, is at our discretion based on the facts of the request. Where we make a partial refund, the remainder is shared between the therapist and Lingo in the usual way.
Receipts, tax, and insurance
We provide a receipt for a report you have paid for, in the same way as for sessions. Depending on your circumstances you may be able to claim the cost, for example against tax relief or a health insurance policy. Whether a written report qualifies can differ from a therapy session, so please check your own policy and the current guidance from Revenue. We do not give tax or insurance advice.
26. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ireland. You submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Irish courts in respect of any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform.
27. Amendments
Kure Digital reserves the right to amend these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or by notice on the Platform at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Platform after such notice constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
